Extact of letter from the Acting Surveyor General to the Colonial Secretary dated 4th February 1865.

"Mr. Inglis the Engineer

Foreman at the Muit has by my desire visited the different Factories in the City with a view to ascer- -taining what proportion of European stilled labor to Chinese will

probably be required for the Exec. tion of the Machinery and Ironwork at the Mint. He is of opinion that two European fitters and

Blacksmith will be required
